“I was inspired to found the organization, Merciful and Loving Heart of Jesus for the Poor, on July 19, 2018, my tenth anniversary of priestly ordination. It all began with the question I asked God: “Jesus, having brought me thus far, what next?” At that moment I strongly felt the burden of the poor. It was so strong that I couldn’t hold back my tears. Hence the name, “Merciful and Loving Heart of Jesus for the Poor,” This took place inside the chapel of Sacred Heart Seminary Detroit while having a quiet moment with the Lord. When I returned to Nigeria, I immediately opened an account and began depositing part of my allowance, continuing to attend to the needy in whatever little way I could.”
